Hey everyone!
We are planning a big WELCOME DIVE on the 14th of August to the Seaway and we want you to come along!
This will be a shore dive and is ideal for Open Water divers and above as well as those who want to shake-off their Covid-lockdown dust.
As divers are usually hungry after adventuring and exploring, we'll have a BBQ lunch after the dive.
To make this as smooth as possible, we need
- surface watch
- helpers who are willing to assist with the BBQ
- someone to tow the gear trailer
- advance people who are happy to lend a helping hand to less experienced,
Costs will be around the $30-40 (incl. tanks, weights and carpooling) and since it's a midday high tide, it'll be a super relaxed day out :-)
For all who are keen, we will meet the Thursday night beforehand at 6:15pm at the shed for a pre-dive brief.
Each diver must:
- Be a current Unidive member, medically fit to dive, who passed the swimming test
- Have dived in the past 6 months.
- Have an open water certfication
- Dive with an SMB/safety sausage, cutting device and whistle. Note: These items are NOT supplied. Safety sausage and shears can be purchased from Unidive.
- Bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins as Unidive does not hire them.
- Dive within their certification and capability.
- Maintain 1.5m physical distancing as far as reasonably practicable.
- Follow instructions, including the COVID-safe instructions, given by the trip organiser, the operator and covered in Unidive COVID-safe plan
- Agree that contact details of participants will be provided to Qld Health upon request for the purpose of contact tracing
- Help out throughout the whole day.
- Be able to attend a trip meeting on the Thursday beforehand at the shed.
If you have any questions about the trip, please email dive@unidive.org.
