We've been invited to participate in a series of cleanup events by URGQ (another Brisbane dive club). The first of these events will be on the 25th March at the Goldcoast Seaway. There was a grand plan involving taking the boat down there so that we can be dropped in at varies points and be picked up again if needed, but unfortunately it was too late notice to secure a boathandler. So, this will be a shore dive only. The event is funded by a grant, so will cost a minimal amount - but don't think of this as a free dive, you will be paying for it in elbow grease as you pull out fishing line and other rubbish.
Since there's a lot of hazards associated with such an event, you will need to be an experienced diver to get involved. You'll need to have a bare minimum of AdvOW (preferably higher), >50 dives and experience in different types of conditions.
