Event information

This event is full.

Cherubs cave is situated on the other side of Moreton Island and is known as a Grey Nurse aggregation site. There are some lovely rocky outcrops and formations for the fish life to hide in, and some nice corals.

Depth is around 30 metres. We will dive at Cherubs and Henderson Rock.

Whales are also often sighted on the surface and can be heard underwater.

The man in the grey suit has also made an appearance previously.

The dive is for experienced divers who have at least 30 dives logged; dived in the last 6 months; the skills to navigate on an unfamiliar site (given a map); hold a position in a current, and deploy a safety sausage below the surface. The boat ride is about 1.5 hours. It can be very bumpy once we cross the bar so be mindful of any back or neck pain.

We will leave the shed at 6 am, drive to Cleveland, run up the inside of Straddie, jump the bar and then up the eastern side of Moreton Island. Likely to be back at 6pm. Cost is about $90 for two dives.

This is not a commercial trip, you must be willing to help out with various tasks to make this trip possible :)

You will need to come to the shed on Thursday prior for a meeting. Registration does not guarantee a spot and an email will be sent out.
