Hey everyone!

We’re heading down to the Gold Coast Seaway (South Wall) for a dive on:

📅 Sunday, 7th of September
⏰ High tide (entry time): 07:42 AM

🗓 Plan for the day

• Meet at the UniDive Shed: 05:00 AM (doors open)

• Departure: 05:15 AM sharp

• Max spots: 8 divers

• Dive format: Single dive, followed by a social lunch (BYO)

🌊 What to Expect at the Seaway

• Sheltered shore-entry dive, easy access - suitable for Open Water divers

• Tidal currents outside of slack tide → we’ll dive on high tide for calm conditions

• Depth: typically 5–18 m

• Marine life highlights: rays, nudibranchs, lionfish, schooling bream, occasional turtles and even pelagics cruising by

• Visibility: usually 5–15 m depending on tide and swell

💰 Costs

• Petrol + tanks: approximately $30–35

• Gear hire: Tanks included, all other gear rental separate
  Note: Due to high demand, gear rental priority on Thursday (04/09, 6:15 PM briefing) goes to Saturday’s trip. If gear is still available, you may rent then. Otherwise, rental is on Sunday morning before departure.

• You must bring your own mask, snorkel and fins. As per QLD law, you must also have an SMB+reel, a whistle and a cutting device (i.e. a diver's knife or scissors).

🚗 Carpooling

We’ll need volunteers for carpooling to make this happen. Please indicate when registering if you can help.

👩‍⚕️ Shore Support Needed

We need one shore support volunteer with up-to-date First Aid, CPR, and O₂ provider training.
