Hey everyone!
We’re heading down to the Tweed River for a shore dive on:

🗓 Plan for the Day
- Meet at the UniDive Shed: time/day
- Departure: time AM sharp
- Max spots: XX divers
- Dive format: Single dive, followed by a social lunch (BYO)
🌊 What to Expect at the Tweed River
- Sheltered shore-entry dive, easy access – suitable for Open Water divers
- Tidal currents outside of slack tide → we’ll dive on high tide for calm conditions
- Depth: typically 5–18 m
- Marine life highlights: rays, nudibranchs, lionfish, schooling bream, occasional turtles, and even pelagics cruising by
- Visibility: usually 5–15 m depending on tide and swell
💰 Costs
- Petrol + tanks: approximately $30–35
- Gear hire: Tanks included, all other gear rental separate
✅ Each Diver Must:
- Be a current Unidive member, medically fit to dive, who passed the swim test.
- Have an Open Water certification or equivalent.
- Have dived in the last 6 months.
- Dive within their certification and capability.
- Ensure that they have all required dive gear (except tanks and weights, which are provided).
- Please bring your own mask, snorkel, and fins, as Unidive does not provide these.
- If you need to hire other equipment (BCD, reg, wetsuit), arrange these before the trip (typically at the Unidive shed on Thursday night before the trip).
- Note: There will be no time to sort out gear hire on the day of the trip.
- Dive with an SMB / safety sausage, cutting device, and whistle.
- Note: These items are NOT supplied.
- Follow instructions given by the Dive Supervisor.
- Help out throughout the whole day.
- Notify the Dive Officer and Trip Organiser of any changes to their personal circumstances as declared in the event registration form.
- Attend the trip meeting (usually on the Thursday beforehand at 6:30 pm at the Unidive shed).
👉Trip briefing: Thursday before the trip at 6:30 pm at the shed. Please attend to organise gear and carpooling!
🚗 Carpooling
We’ll need volunteers for carpooling to make this happen. Please indicate when registering if you can help.
👩⚕️ Shore Support Needed
We need one shore support volunteer with up-to-date First Aid, CPR, and O₂ provider training.
