Event information

This event is sold out.

Enhance your diving skills over five adventure dives with Unidive, our partner PADI instructors and divemasters, and even aboard the Gold Coast Dive Adventures boat. Each dive is designed to develop your advanced skills, helping you become a safer, more confident, and comfortable diver.

This AOW camp will help you gain confidence in night diving, boat diving, and dives up to 30m, while also improving your buoyancy, trim, DSMB deployment, navigation, compass skills, and marine life identification skills.

Adventure Dives:

  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Underwater Navigation
  • Night
  • Deep
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • + practice using a DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoy)

The course layout is as follows:

  • ONLINE TRAINING (6-8 hours): Start your independent online training at home through the world-class PADI eLearning system.
  • ORIENTATION + THEORY WORKSHOP @ Unidive Shed (30 April- 6:00 pm to late): meet your instructor and fellow students and then dive at UQ pool together to practice your fin pivot, hover, trim and DSMB skills.
  • ROAD TRIP:  Let's turn our three days of diving into a fun long weekend away, staying at Tweed Holiday Park and relaxing in the Gold Coast/ Tweed area in between dives. We will leave the Brisbane area on May 2nd, go to our campground, set up tents and then go through a camping-style classroom session to review online training and focus on the theory and dryland training for the upcoming dives. We will be home late afternoon Monday, 4th May.
  • NIGHT DIVES @ Tweed Heads NSW (2nd May): The ocean truly comes alive at night, and it is a magical experience. Night diving requires a whole new set of skills, so learn to safely see your favourite dive site in a whole new light (literally)!
  • PEAK PERFORMANCE BUOYANCY + NAVIGATION DIVES @ Tweed Heads NSW (3rd May): perfect your finning, buoyancy and trim during the Peak Performance Buoyancy adventure dive and increase your compass and natural navigation skills during the Underwater Navigation dive.
  • DEEP + UNDERWATER NATURALIST DIVES @ Nine Mile Reef with Gold Coast Dive Adventures (4th April): Join us and GCDA to explore the 30m deep Nine Mile Reef, off the Tweed coast.
