UniDive Ex-HMAS Brisbane Trip

Unidive is headed back to one of South-East Queensland's best dive sites, the Ex-HMAS Brisbane! This trip is chartered for Saturday the 27th of June 2026 with Scubaworld in Mooloolaba. Note that this is an afternoon trip which is perfect for those who prefer a later start to the day, but you will need to be at Mooloolaba by midday, so you need to consider traffic congestion in your travel plans.

The trip cost ($175) includes the seat on the boat, tanks (air) and weights. There are complementary snacks and hot drinks provided between dives, but if you have special dietary requirements then you are recommended to bring your own.

The ex-HMAS Brisbane was a 133m long destroyer in the Royal Australian Navy. After 34 years serving in both the Vietnam and Gulf war, the ship was decommissioned in 2001. Then in July 2005, the ship was sunk just off the Sunshine Coast as an artificial reef and dive site. The wreck has since been colonised by sponges, soft corals, and hard corals, while over 200 different species of fish have been sighted in the area.

We have 14 total spots for Open Water divers or above who will enjoy two guided dives with a Scubaworld guide.

The price for a double dive includes two tanks (Air) and weights, but excludes gear hire (if you need hire gear, please check out our loans webpage https://www.unidive.org/diving/loans/).

While not mandatory, we highly recommend Nitrox for this event. If you plan to dive nitrox please let us know so that we can organise the tanks for you with Scubaworld. Please note that you must have a Nitrox certification to dive with Nitrox tanks. It is possible to upgrade to Nitrox (if you are certified) by paying Scuba World apprx. $28 on the day.

The trip will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The dive will be guided by Scuba World instructors as is suitable for Open Water certified divers.

Because the HMAS Brisbane is a marine park, further conditions apply, so please read the waiver carefully!
