Yes, it is a Dive for this Sunday Flinders Reef and Gotham City; we need people to drop off and pick up tanks.

Flinders-Reef is a small isolated reef north of Moreton Island. It has the highest number of coral species of any subtropical reef system along Australia's east coast. With thousands of species of tropical fish, an array of hard and soft corals, eagle rays, leopard sharks in summer, grey nurse sharks and humpback whales in winter, and the famous Turtle Cleaning Station in only 5m of water it is one of Queensland's most popular open water level dive sites.

Boat Handlers for the day are Lock & Bruce

Weather permitting, we are seeking to put together a dive team of no more than nine divers for a double dive to Flinders Reef.  This is an ADV trip

The dive day is long starting at 6:00 am at the Unidive shed to load the boat and finish around 6:00 pm. Please don't plan anything on Saturday night until after 6 p.m.

This trip is organised by volunteers and each team member is expected to assist with the day's operation.  Please nominate a task.

The cost will be around $100. A trip meeting will be organised at the shed 6:30 pm on Thursday  Gear hire is the responsibility of each individual diver; except weights and tanks which will be loaded on the day (as a group). There may not be much gear hire available

Each diver must:

  • Be a current Unidive member and be medically fit to dive.
  • Dive with an SMB/safety sausage, cutting device and whistle. Note: These items are NOT supplied. Safety sausage and shears can be purchased from Unidive.
  • Bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins as Unidive does not hire them.
  • Dive within their certification and capability.
  • Help out throughout the whole day.
