Stradbroke Island Dive Trip 14-16 June 2019

G’day Unidivers,

I'm organising a dive trip with the Grey Nurse Sharks at Stradbroke Island, hosted by Ken over the weekend of the 14th to 16th June. The weekend will include diving with Grey Nurse Sharkes and if we are lucky - Whales, good people, fantastic food and good times.

We will be attempting to dive with the Grey nurse sharks which hang around Flat Rock during the winter months. The dives will be to 30 metres and potentially current so the trip will be limited to advanced divers. If there are enough divers, two waves may operate each day. Each wave will consist of a double dive and please note - the dive locations will depend on weather conditions and the dive group’s certification mix. Experienced divers to assist with dive operations will be appreciated.

A meeting will take place on Thursday 13th June @ 18:30 at the Unidive shed to sort out the trip logistics.

Note your spot is not confirmed until you have paid a $50.00 deposit and have been confirmed by James you meet all the EXP requirments.

The plan is to meet at the Cleveland ferry terminal at 18:30 sharp Friday night for the 19:00 ferry, returning on 16:00 Sunday. This puts us back in Brisbane at about 18:00. Cars for ride sharing are required.  Accommodation at Ken’s place has character and is best describes as back-packer dorm style. So you will need to supply your own sheets, sleeping bag, pillow,towel etc. A food kitty will be in operation for the trip from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch. Friday dinner is not supplied. Please note any dietary requirements when signing up.

Dive gear is your responsibility with Unidive. Tanks and weights are supplied by Ken on the island.

The total cost will be around $250.00 - $300.00 including: 4 dives ($200.00), 2 nights’ accommodation ($50.00) and approx. $50.00 for food, ferry and fuel. The bold numbers are known costs.
