MEAM Get involved

Any UniDive member can participate in the MEAM project. Volunteer divers will include Core Divers (CD) and Non-Core Divers (NCD). CDs will need RES+ and 50+ dives including 10 in current, plus some marine survey experience. NCDs will need ADV+ and 50+ dives including 10 in current.

If you don’t have 50+ dives: it’s okay, you can still contribute to the project in many ways: from mapping activities to organising accommodation, transport, tank fills to creating the project book, video, etc.

We are meeting regularly as a group (usually on Zoom). After a few cancelled weekends and day trips due to bad weather and COVID lockdowns, we are hoping to continue our surveys in Mooloolaba. We are also starting data analysis, mapping and report writing activities.

To express your interest in participating in the project:

  1. Check the project key dates for upcoming meetings and weekends.

  2. If you haven’t yet, you’ll need to join/renew your membership and pass your swim test to participate in this project.

  3. Fill this Expression of Interest (EOI) form before the next meeting.
